Dealing with Fools

(Up to: On Humbleness )
I have yet to reason this through properly, but it seems to me that there are (at least) three ways to cope with people who, for whatever reason, have an opinion that you have already dismissed, in some form, but whom insist upon it in face of any questioning. By this, I mean those who have arbitrarily decided some finality in logic or reason.
- One may put forth arguments that should advance the moment of understanding, but these suffer as they rely on reason rather than polemics and strong-headedness.
- One may stay polite, and not offer any counter-discussion at all, in the hope for other realms to be more constructive and aligned. However, this way is hypocritical and a betrayal to one's own thoughts if they differ at all.
- One can be tolerant, and attempt to offer further reasoning in counter to their viewpoint, but purely in a suggestive, non-proud manner.
I am still working on this.
