Notes from a Chinese language.

Interesting things to find out:

  • There is no set word for either "brother" or "sister", in general -an age must be specified, i.e. "older/younger brother/sister". There are some workarounds but e'en so... (|!LanguageHacks|)
  • The "Happy" in "Happy Christmas" is a short-lived happiness, for the event only and no longer.
  • "Man" is pronounced the same as "difficult", either because men do the difficult stuff, or because men are difficult. ;)
