Terrorism is Communism?
(Up to: Language To Control Fears War )
While there are obvious differences between the objectives, purposes and means for both Communism and Terrorism, what we can see in reality is a similarity in the way the United States deals with both, as touched upon at ThoughtStorms.
Take, for future reference, this quote by J Edgar Hoover, taken from Paul Wolf's COINTEL page:
The forces which are most anxious to weaken our internal security are not always easy to identify. Communists have been trained in deceit and secretly work toward the day when they hope to replace our American way of life with a Communist dictatorship. They utilize cleverly camouflaged movements, such as peace groups and civil rights groups to achieve their sinister purposes. While they as individuals are difficult to identify, the Communist party line is clear. Its first concern is the advancement of Soviet Russia and the godless Communist cause. It is important to learn to know the enemies of the American way of life.
Apart from the use of the word "godless", it's clear that the image of terrorists being portrayed by the American administration mirrors closely that put forward for Communists.
Is this a coincidence? Do American "values" and their means of policing this progress just happen to attract people that fall into similar categories? Or have the American's got used to portraying an enemy so, in order to control their population?
Either way, it seems like a familiar excuse in order to carry out actions against those are vociferously opposed to government policies, for whatever reason.
